Jon Schaffer Says No To Big Money Offers For Iced Earth Reunion, Insists It Must Be “Gold”

Jon Schaffer has confirmed that he has been offered huge money to bring back Iced Earth but says he is not ready to do it.

He spoke about the matter during an interview on "Podcast Of The Wicked."

Schaffer explained that while the offers were tempting, he is focused on doing things for the right reasons, not for money.

He told fans that rushing into a reunion would not be fair to him, the band, or the fans. Schaffer said any comeback must be “gold,” not just “good,” and that will take time.

Iced Earth has been on hold since Schaffer’s arrest during the January 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riot, which deeply affected the band’s future.

Former vocalist Matt Barlow has said he is open to returning if Schaffer decides to restart the band, but the choice is fully Schaffer’s.

For now, Schaffer has made it clear that Iced Earth will only return when he feels truly inspired.
