TRIVIUM has officially welcomed Alex Rüdinger (formerly of WHITECHAPEL) as their new drummer after parting ways with longtime member Alex Bent earlier this month.
Rüdinger shared his excitement on social media, calling the opportunity “a second chance at something that I always wanted.”
He explained that nearly ten years ago, he was offered a spot in TRIVIUM but chose to stay with his then-new band GOOD TIGER, a decision he later came to regret.
After hearing about Bent’s exit, Rüdinger immediately reached out and was invited to join.
He thanked Matt Heafy, Corey Beaulieu, and Paolo Gregoletto for trusting him and said he’s ready to perform songs he’s been learning for the band’s fall 2025 North American tour.
Heafy commented on Rüdinger’s post, saying, “It took us a decade — but we’re finally making music together.”
Rüdinger will also take part in writing TRIVIUM’s next studio album.
The band’s new EP Struck Dead arrives October 31 via Roadrunner Records.
