Fireworks are set to be banned at Murrayfield Stadium after AC/DC’s concert in August broke noise limits.
Edinburgh Council said it received eight complaints about the AC/DC show and eight more after Oasis played three nights earlier that month.
Environmental health officers found that AC/DC’s soundchecks and the show itself went over noise rules.
One local resident even said their lights flickered because of the power being used at the stadium.
Both AC/DC and Oasis used fireworks in their shows, which officers said disturbed nearby communities.
Council staff will now advise that fireworks not be allowed at future Murrayfield events.
The issue will be sent to the licensing board for review, as the stadium’s current licence lets fireworks be used without extra approval.
The move follows wider city efforts to cut firework use, including new control zones and heavy fines for anyone breaking the rules.
