MUDVAYNE singer Chad Gray said Ozzy Osbourne’s impact on heavy metal was unlike anything else.
In a new talk with Abe Kanan of Audacy, Gray shared what playing Ozzfest in 2001 and 2005 meant to his band.
He said Ozzy’s work with BLACK SABBATH, his solo career, and the Ozzfest festival inspired hundreds of bands.

Gray noted that Ozzy even helped launch METALLICA by taking them on tour during the "Master Of Puppets" era.
MUDVAYNE played Ozzfest’s second stage along with SYSTEM OF A DOWN, SLIPKNOT, and DROWNING POOL, while the main stage had acts like MARILYN MANSON, PAPA ROACH, LINKIN PARK, and DISTURBED.
Right now, MUDVAYNE is on the "L.D. 50 25th Anniversary" tour, though guitarist Greg Tribbett is missing shows after the loss of his wife.
The band recently put out two new singles, "Hurt People Hurt People" and "Sticks And Stones," their first new songs in over 16 years.
Formed in 1996, MUDVAYNE has sold over six million records and remains one of the most creative and talked-about metal bands today.
