Sammy Hagar says he still has goals left to reach in his long rock career.
In a chat with Loudwire Nights on October 10, he said his drive comes from trying to outdo himself, not compete with others.
The rocker shared that one of his biggest dreams is to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist.
“Van Halen’s already in there, but I’d love to see Sammy solo in there too,” he said.
Hagar also admitted he’d be happy with a lifetime achievement award, calling it something he’d proudly hang on his wall.
He’s been enjoying his Las Vegas residency, calling it a “retirement done right” since it lets him rest and still perform.
Hagar said Vegas helps artists last longer because they don’t need to travel and can recover between shows.
No matter how tough touring gets, he added, “Rock and roll is the doctor — the music brings you back to life.”
