To mark ten years since Scott Weiland’s passing, a never-before-heard song titled “If I Could Fly” has been released today on all digital streaming platforms via Primary Wave/Virgin.
The song was written in 2000 after the birth of his son and shows a deeply personal side of the late STONE TEMPLE PILOTS and VELVET REVOLVER frontman.
This is the first unreleased song from Weiland’s archive to surface since his death.
The track highlights the emotion and honesty that made Scott one of rock’s most unique voices.
Weiland was found dead on December 3, 2015, at age 48 while on tour with THE WILDABOUTS in Minnesota.
A toxic mix of drugs and alcohol was ruled as the cause of death. In his final months, he was battling hepatitis C, mental illness, and family struggles.
With over 50 million albums sold, Scott’s music continues to reach new generations, and “If I Could Fly” stands as a heartfelt reminder of his lasting impact.
