In preparation for a playoff run, the Los Angeles Lakers have made some roster moves, reuniting LeBron James with his former Cleveland Cavaliers teammate Tristan Thompson and adding Shaquille Harrison for backcourt depth.

Harrison, a 29-year-old point guard known for his defensive skills, was recently on a 10-day contract with the Portland Trail Blazers. Before that, he played for the Lakers' G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers.

Thompson, on the other hand, has never played for the Lakers but has an impressive postseason record, having appeared in 88 playoff games and making four consecutive Finals appearances with James and the Cavaliers between 2015-18.

In 2016, he played a key role in the Cavaliers' championship win, averaging 10.3 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 1 block per game in the Finals.

Despite not having played this season, Thompson has been preparing for a comeback and made appearances on ESPN's "NBA Today".

Last season, he played for the Sacramento Kings, Indiana Pacers, and Chicago Bulls, averaging 6 points and 5.1 rebounds on 52.8% shooting in 57 games.

Rumors of Thompson joining the Lakers began in March, and the team worked him out after dealing with various injuries.

Thompson revealed on Warriors veteran Draymond Green's podcast that James mentioned being reminded of their old playing days while watching him work out.

Currently, the Lakers sit at No. 7 in the Western Conference with a record of 42-39.

However, with a win over the Utah Jazz and some other losses, they could move up and avoid the play-in tournament. These additions could be crucial for the Lakers as they make a push for the playoffs.
