LA Clippers forward Nicolas Batum is set to conclude his basketball journey after the 2023-24 NBA season, as revealed in a Tweet by his wife, Lily Batum, on Tuesday.

This confirmation comes after Batum had hinted at this decision in an interview with Le10sport last year. His wife's Tweet, translated from French to English, disclosed that Batum's playing career would culminate after the 2024 Olympics.

Consequently, while his NBA tenure will conclude at the end of the 2023-24 season, he will have the opportunity to cap off his playing career with the French national team. Having joined the Clippers in 2020, Batum played a pivotal role as a team player. He revitalized his career following a challenging period with the Charlotte Hornets.
During his time with the Clippers, Batum participated in 204 regular-season games and 24 playoff games. Throughout his Clippers tenure, he maintained an average of 7.4 points per game, displaying impressive accuracy by converting 39.8% of his three-point attempts.

Beyond his on-court contributions, Batum's presence in the locker room has been highly regarded. Throughout his professional journey, he has consistently exhibited a steady and professional demeanor.

The Clippers are undoubtedly set to feel his absence after the current season, as his contributions to the franchise over just a few seasons have been impactful. With a 15-year career under his belt, Batum's retirement will mark the end of a successful journey.

Before bidding farewell to the court, he will have one final opportunity to contend for a championship in the upcoming season.
