Kevin Durant Denies Fat Joe's Claim of Post-Rucker Park Attack

Phoenix Suns' Kevin Durant has denied rapper Fat Joe's recent claim that he was nearly attacked after a basketball game at New York City's famous Rucker Park. Responding to the story on Thursday, Durant dismissed it as false.

Durant reacted to a clip from the Roommates Show on X, saying, "Another podcast lie. It was nothing but respect and love out there that night, didn't feel unsafe for one second."

Fat Joe had shared on the podcast that Durant's impressive performance led to a chase out of the park, stating, "He scored like 82 points in the third quarter. They chased him out of the Rucker, like they wanted to beat him up."

However, Durant quickly shut down the story as a tall tale. Despite the controversy, Durant's incredible scoring feats at the iconic basketball court are well-documented.

Back in the summer of 2011 during the NBA's lockout, Durant showcased his skills at Rucker Park, scoring 66 points for the DC Power in the Entertainers Basketball Classic. Even now, over a decade later, Durant remains one of the NBA's top scorers, averaging 27.2 points per game this season with the Suns.

Teaming up with Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, Durant is aiming for a successful playoff run. Currently holding the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference, the Suns are looking to secure wins to potentially move up and avoid a play-in tournament.

With Durant's scoring prowess, if he can bring the same energy he had at Rucker Park to the postseason, the Suns could be on track for a strong playoff performance.
