The sports world is buzzing with controversy after news broke that Caitlin Clark won't be playing for Team USA in the Paris 2024 Olympics. Fans and analysts alike are outraged, but until recently, they weren't sure who to blame.

That changed on Sunday morning when the five members of Team USA's Olympic selection committee were revealed. Among them is Dawn Staley, the University of South Carolina women's basketball coach who recently led her team to a 2024 NCAA Championship victory against Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Staley has since faced a storm of criticism on social media for her role in the decision. One user on X wrote, "Dawn Staley...imagine that. NO one is surprised." Another user accused Staley of racism, saying, "This is racism by Dawn Staley.
