Manny Pacquiao Reveals Hardest-Hitting Opponent: “I Was Lucky To Survive”

Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao has faced many tough opponents throughout his storied career. From humble beginnings in the Philippines, Pacquiao rose to fame, capturing 12 world titles across eight weight classes. 

He fought and won against some of the sport's biggest names, including Marco Antonio Barrera, Erik Morales, Juan Manuel Marquez, Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, and Miguel Cotto. He even faced Floyd Mayweather in 2015, though he lost on points.

When asked by Ring TV about the hardest hitter he ever faced, Pacquiao named Antonio Margarito, whom he defeated in 2010 to claim the WBC Super Welterweight title. "Big and strong is an understatement. His body shots hurt me several times throughout our fight," Pacquiao said.

In an interview with Marca, Pacquiao further explained, "His punch is different. It was surprising that I survived that fight. I could take the punches, but after the fight, I could feel something—it was too much for me."

Even after years at the top, Pacquiao continued to impress, securing a win against Keith Thurman in his last fight. Though he hasn't fought professionally in three years, rumors are swirling about a possible welterweight title fight against Mario Barrios.
