LeBron James’ Daily Routine: $1.5 Million On Staying In Top Shape

LeBron James, entering his 22nd NBA season at age 39, is still performing at an elite level. In a new Netflix series, Starting 5, he shares how he keeps up with younger players. His secret? A strict routine and a lot of dedication.

Since 2016, it’s been rumored that LeBron spends $1.5 million a year on his health. He hasn’t confirmed this, but he did say, "It’s really the time and dedication I put in." His commitment to "biohacking" – using technology and science to boost health – is impressive. Here’s a look at what he does each day to stay in peak condition.

LeBron starts his game days around 6:30 a.m. with a cold plunge (10-15 minutes) to wake up his muscles. Then he warms up on the court. After a noon to 2 p.m. nap, he spends hours before the game stretching, massaging, and strengthening his core. He says this routine keeps him ready for the intense 7 p.m. game tip-off.

LeBron sticks to a clean diet of whole, organic foods, avoiding sugar, fried, and processed items. He does allow himself a glass of wine after games. Even in the off-season, he sticks to his routine.

Recovery days are essential, says his trainer Mike Mancias. LeBron swears by cold plunges and red light therapy, which helps with muscle and joint pain. He also uses a hyperbaric oxygen chamber to improve blood flow and recovery. Cryotherapy – exposing his body to extreme cold – and leg compression devices are other tools he uses.

For LeBron, the most important part of his health routine is simple: sleep. “Sleep is the best recovery you can have,” he says, comparing it to charging a phone. He limits screen time and keeps his room cool to improve sleep quality.

At nearly 40, LeBron continues to push the limits of NBA longevity. His dedication shows that with the right commitment, age can just be a number. Source: Fortune Well
