The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) has suspended Mike Tyson and Jake Paul for 24 days following their controversial fight in Arlington last Saturday.
The bout, streamed live on Netflix, saw Paul, 27, defeat Tyson, 58, in a unanimous decision after eight two-minute rounds. The match was Tyson's first sanctioned fight since 2005 and attracted over 100 million viewers. However, many fans and commentators called the fight lackluster.
The TDLR requires boxers to take a mandatory three-day rest period for every round they fight. This rule led to the 24-day suspension for both Tyson and Paul.

Two other boxers, Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor, also received suspensions after their intense match. Taylor won by unanimous decision, but both fighters were given 45-day bans.
Serrano initially accused Taylor of causing a headbutt that left her with a cut but later apologized on social media. “Tempers flare in the heat of battle,” Serrano wrote, adding she looks forward to a potential third match against Taylor.
Jake Paul admitted he held back against Tyson during the fight, especially after noticing the former heavyweight champion was tiring. “I didn’t want to hurt him too much,” Paul said. He also apologized to fans for not delivering the knockout he had promised before the fight.
Tyson, despite starting strong, appeared to run out of energy in the later rounds, allowing Paul to dominate and secure the victory.
With these suspensions in place, the fighters will take a brief break from the ring before planning their next moves. Source
