Guns N’ Roses have released a statement about Axl Rose’s on-stage meltdown during their Buenos Aires show on October 18.
The band said Rose’s anger came from a sound issue, not from new drummer Isaac Carpenter.
During the first song, “Welcome To The Jungle,” Rose’s in-ear monitor only played the drums, causing him to lose his temper.
He threw his microphone, took off his jacket, and briefly walked off stage before returning.
The group explained that the problem was fixed by the third song and that the rest of the night went well.
They also praised Carpenter, calling him “top notch and a great drummer.”
Carpenter joined the band after Frank Ferrer left in March following 17 years with the group.
Meanwhile, Slash said the band is thinking about making new music, though no plans are confirmed yet.
