HATEBREED guitarist Wayne Lozinak has opened up about his recovery after undergoing brain surgery to remove a benign tumor.
In a new talk with The Mike James Rock Show, Wayne said he first noticed symptoms during the Download Festival in June when his lip went numb and he suddenly couldn’t talk.
After seeing a doctor in France, a scan showed a large tumor that had likely been growing for years.
He had surgery on August 4, which caused a mild stroke that affected his speech and writing.
Wayne said he had to relearn how to talk through therapy but is now doing much better.
He also shared that he slowly picked up his guitar again and can now play as before, though doctors told him not to “headbang too crazy.”
During his recovery, HATEBREED continued touring with fill-in members on guitar and bass.
Wayne is now back with the band and happy to be performing again.
