Limp Bizkit bassist Sam Rivers has died at 48, leaving fans shocked and heartbroken.
The band confirmed his death on October 18, calling him “pure magic” and “the heartbeat” of Limp Bizkit.
No cause of death has been confirmed, but fans are questioning if his long battle with liver disease played a part.
Rivers once revealed that years of heavy drinking caused him to develop severe liver disease, which forced him to leave the band in 2015.
He later said he quit drinking, followed doctor’s advice, and got a liver transplant that helped him recover.
After taking time off to heal, Rivers rejoined Limp Bizkit and returned to touring with his bandmates.
As of now, neither the band nor his family has shared more details about how he died.
Fans and fellow musicians are remembering him as a true legend and the soul of Limp Bizkit.
