Even Taylor Swift’s most loyal fans are struggling right now.
Her new album, "The Life of a Showgirl," is getting mixed reviews, with Pitchfork giving it a 5.9 and calling it her “least compelling” work yet.
The New Yorker said her life might be too sheltered, while Business Insider called the album both her best and “cringiest.”
Billboard said the songs are basic pop, and Teen Vogue warned it’s more fun if you don’t take Swift too seriously.
Some fans are upset about her new movie-style project, "Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl," which the Guardian called a “lazy big screen cash-in.”
The film earned around $33 million but mostly features lyric videos and toned-down versions of her songs.
Many fans are also uneasy about her relationship with Travis Kelce, who inspired several songs.
Still, Swift remains a massive star, though this time, even her fans are finding it hard to defend her every move.
