British rocker Yungblud opened up about his rise to fame and the heroes who inspired him in a new interview with “CBS Mornings.”
The 28-year-old musician, born Dominic Harrison, released his fourth album Idols in June, marking his third straight No. 1 on the U.K. charts.
Growing up in Doncaster, England, in a family that owned guitar shops, Yungblud said he always knew music was his path.
After moving to London at 15, he formed a band that first found fame in the Netherlands before breaking through in the U.K.
Despite success, he said the pressure and online criticism once sent him into a “downward spiral,” which he overcame through boxing.
Yungblud shared that working with legends like Aerosmith and Ozzy Osbourne has been a dream come true.
He performed “Changes” with Osbourne at the rocker’s farewell concert in July, calling it a magical moment.
Before Osbourne’s death weeks later, he gave Yungblud a cross necklace and told him, “Don’t compromise. They’ll get it later.”
