JESSE LEACH SAYS MUSIC HELPS HIM HEAL

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE singer Jesse Leach says music has become a big part of his therapy. 

In a new talk with Kati Rausch of Music Interview Corner, Leach and guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz spoke about their new album This Consequence, out now on Metal Blade Records. 

The record, released in February 2025, is the band’s ninth studio album and their sixth with Leach since his return in 2012.

Leach said the songs were shaped by the state of the world after the pandemic and by his own struggles. 

He shared that people today often argue instead of listening to each other, and his lyrics call for more kindness and compassion. 

He also said making the album was one of the hardest but most rewarding experiences of his career.

Leach added that writing and performing help him deal with mental health issues, saying, “Music is definitely part of my therapy.” 

He explained that performing live helps him release emotions and connect deeply with fans. 

Dutkiewicz agreed, saying that challenging themselves keeps their work honest and inspired.

The band’s single “I Believe” reached the Top 10, and This Consequence earned KILLSWITCH ENGAGE magazine covers and a hit tour with BEARTOOTH, I PREVAIL, and PARKWAY DRIVE.
