Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme is returning to his roots with a special screening of Alive in the Catacombs at the Plaza Theatre in Palm Springs on Dec. 9.
The concert film, shot in the Catacombs of Paris, shows the band performing reworked versions of their songs with a symphony, mixing heavy and soft sounds.
The event will also feature a behind-the-scenes documentary and a live Q&A with Homme.
The Plaza Theatre holds a special place in Homme’s heart, as it was where he often watched movies growing up.
In 2022, he helped raise funds to restore the venue through the Rock the Plaza benefit concert.
Homme said he’s proud to see more music venues thriving in the desert, where his career first began with Kyuss and Queens of the Stone Age.
The Palm Springs screening marks one of Homme’s few local appearances in recent years.
He also hinted that the Catacombs tour may add a desert stop so he can “bring all this stuff home.”
