Biffy Clyro are exploring new sounds after releasing their 10th studio album Futique in September.
Frontman Simon Neil revealed he’s been writing songs that mix garage rock and country rock styles.
He said the new tracks feel “much less Biffy” and give the band more freedom to experiment.
Neil added that these songs are looser and highlight the group’s eccentric side.
He also shared that one of the tracks might be the best country rock song he’s ever written.
The band hasn’t confirmed if the songs will appear on their next album or EP, but Neil hopes for a full record.
He plans to work again with producer Jonathan Gilmore to finish the songs next year.
Neil said making Futique showed him that Biffy Clyro still have plenty of creativity and energy left.
