Roddy Bottum Says Faith No More Won’t Return: “No One’s Up For It Anymore”

Photo: Roddy Bottum / Instagram   Faith No More keyboardist Roddy Bottum has ruled out the band returning, saying no one in the group is interested anymore.  The band first broke up in 1998 before reuniting in 2009 and touring until 2021, when plans fell apart during the pandemic.  Shows were canceled after singer Mike Patton revealed he was struggling with agoraphobia.  Photo: Roddy Bottum / Instagram While Patton later returned to touring with Mr. Bungle, Faith No More never regrouped.  Drummer Mike Bordin had earlier said Patton was unwilling to perform with them again.  Now promoting his new memoir The Royal We , Bottum told Alternative Nation  that it’s not just Patton who isn’t up for it.  He said the band already achieved what they wanted artistically and don’t see a reason to reunite.  Bottum added he doubts Faith No More would ever be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, calling them “too weird and unorthodox” for such an...

Sam Rivers: The Bass Power Behind Limp Bizkit’s Lasting Sound

Photo: Sam Rivers / Instagram   Limp Bizkit remain one of the biggest nu-metal bands in the world, and much of their sound comes from bassist Sam Rivers.  Known for his catchy and creative basslines, Rivers helped shape the band’s biggest songs, including Rearranged , which came together during a soundcheck.  “That bassline was the first thing that came out of my head.  By the end of the soundcheck we had the whole song down,” Rivers said.  Photo: Sam Rivers / Instagram His teamwork with guitarist Wes Borland gave Limp Bizkit their mix of heavy riffs and deep grooves.  Rivers began playing bass as a teen, drawing inspiration from players like Pearl Jam’s Jeff Ament and Tool’s Justin Chancellor.  He used Warwick Streamer basses and often added his own setup for a unique tone.  Over the years, he mixed dry and gritty sounds using pedals and fuzz to make his tone stand out.  Onstage, Rivers switched between several basses tuned low for Limp Biz...

Photo: Serj Tankian / Instagram   Serj Tankian has shared an update on the current state of System of a Down, saying the band is “having the best time of our lives.” In a new interview with Kerrang! , Tankian said he and his bandmates are closer than ever after taking time apart to “go back to our own corners, assess things, and come back together.” The band has been touring across the Americas this year and already has a European tour set for 2026. Photo: Serj Tankian / Instagram However, fans shouldn’t expect a new album soon, as there are no plans to follow up 2005’s Mezmerize  and Hypnotize . Tankian explained that the group now only plays 10 to 15 shows a year, choosing places they truly want to visit rather than doing full tours. “We’re not selling widgets. We’re artists, and we want to remain that way,” he said. He added that they prefer to keep things personal and fun, focusing on friendship over business. Tankian said the band is grateful for the continued love from f...

Tobias Forge Defends Ghost’s Setlist Choices: “Changing It Every Night Is Insane”

Photo: Tobias Forge / Instagram   Tobias Forge, frontman of Ghost, recently spoke about fans asking the band to change their setlist every night.  In an interview with HardDrive, Forge said this request is “insane” and goes against how Ghost operates on tour.  He explained that many fans in different cities have not yet seen the current show, so the band wants to keep the production the same for everyone.  Photo: Tobias Forge / Instagram Forge said changing everything each night would be impossible since their concerts involve complex lights, visuals, and stage setups. To keep things fresh, Ghost added rotating song slots that change every show, so no two nights are exactly alike.  Forge said this helps both fans and the band enjoy the show more.  “It keeps everyone on their toes,” he shared, adding that it makes each performance fun and surprising for the group. Ghost’s ongoing “Skeletour” World Tour highlights songs from their new album Skeleta  and ...

Photo: Axl Rose, Isaac Carpenter / Instagram   Guns N’ Roses have released a statement about Axl Rose’s on-stage meltdown during their Buenos Aires show on October 18.  The band said Rose’s anger came from a sound issue, not from new drummer Isaac Carpenter.  During the first song, “Welcome To The Jungle,” Rose’s in-ear monitor only played the drums, causing him to lose his temper.  Photo: Axl Rose / Instagram He threw his microphone, took off his jacket, and briefly walked off stage before returning.  The group explained that the problem was fixed by the third song and that the rest of the night went well.  They also praised Carpenter, calling him “top notch and a great drummer.”  Carpenter joined the band after Frank Ferrer left in March following 17 years with the group.  Meanwhile, Slash said the band is thinking about making new music, though no plans are confirmed yet. Lou Gramm Says He Forgot FOREIGNER Lyrics After Brain Surgery But Fought His Way Back To The Stage

Photo: Lou Gramm / Instagram   Former FOREIGNER singer Lou Gramm shared that after his brain surgery nearly 30 years ago, he couldn’t remember the words to the band’s classic songs.   Gramm was diagnosed with a brain tumor called a craniopharyngioma and underwent a 19-hour surgery that damaged his pituitary gland.  The operation caused major health issues, including weight gain and memory loss.  Photo: Lou Gramm / Instagram Lou said that during his early shows after surgery, he had to tape the song lyrics in a semicircle around his mic stand to help him remember.  His doctors told him not to tour for at least a year, but the band’s manager pushed him to perform only two months later.  Despite the struggles, Gramm slowly recovered and returned to performing.  He later wrote about his experience in his book Juke Box Hero: My Five Decades In Rock ’N’ Roll .  Lou is set to rejoin FOREIGNER onstage for select shows, performing the band’s biggest hits o...

Alex Feder Responds To Fan Backlash After Replacing Brad Delson In Linkin Park

Photo: Alex Feder, Brad Delson / Instagram   Alex Feder has spoken about the mixed reaction he’s received from Linkin Park fans after stepping in for longtime guitarist Brad Delson on tour.  Delson, who no longer plays live, remains a member of the band and personally chose Feder to take his place.  In a chat with Andertons Music Co., Feder said some fans on message boards are unhappy that he doesn’t play every part exactly like Delson did.  Photo: Alex Feder / Instagram He explained that while he aims to honor the band’s classic sound, he also adds his own small touches when playing live.  Feder said Linkin Park isn’t a “guitar hero” type of band, so he avoids flashy solos or big changes to their songs.  Still, he admitted that even small tweaks, like palm muting parts of “A Place for My Head,” have upset a few die-hard fans.  When that happens, he checks in with Delson and Mike Shinoda to make sure his approach fits the band’s vision.  Feder s...

Photo: Brian May / Instagram   Queen guitarist Brian May has admitted he was never fully happy with the band’s first single, “ Keep Yourself Alive . ” Despite its success and lasting appeal, May said the studio version lost the natural feel of the demo that first caught their energy.  He explained that the original demo was more relaxed and alive, and he’s believed ever since that making demos can sometimes hurt the final recording.  Photo: Brian May / Instagram   The song, from Queen’s 1973 debut album, introduced the world to their layered sound and powerful vocals.  May, who built many of Queen’s trademark guitar sounds, felt the track didn’t capture the same magic as their early take.  He once said, “The more you chase it, the further it gets away.” Still, fans embraced the song as a strong start to the band’s legendary career.  Even if May wasn’t satisfied, “Keep Yourself Alive” remains a classic moment in rock history.
